AES, Inc is established and ready to compete.
Advanced Engineering Solutions, Inc. is a newly formed structural and forensic engineering firm. The company’s principals are Bob Condit, James Jones, P.E. and Ms. Tana M. Koudelka, P.E.
Located at 11929 Starcrest, Advanced Engineering Solutions has established its offices, is hiring employees and competing for clients. In addition to the three partners, the firm has hired two engineering technician specialists and a business manager.
“We are a staff of seven at this time, and plan to add more employees as our workload increases,” General Manager, Bob Condit explained. “The firm is built around Jim Jones and Ms. Koudelka, both of whom are structural engineers. They bring expertise of structural construction sciences and forensic investigation to our company.”
Focusing on projects along the San Antonio-Austin corridor, the partners plan to market their firm’s services to commercial contractors, residential homebuilders, insurance companies and homeowner.
The company will focus on the structural design of buildings and homes and on using forensic engineering to investigate why buildings develop cracks and other structural problems. With an eye on helping buildings and contractors construct more cost-effective products, AES will market the firm’s capabilities to work with contractors to design and certify a home or building’s foundation, walls frame and roof.
“The uniqueness of our engineering services is our ability to package an engineered building system instead of just a foundation,” Bob continued. “The soils in this region dictate the rules by which foundations are engineered. Subsequently, the structures must be engineered for the foundation. We think there’s an advantage to doing that for the building or contractor, so he can promote his products as being wholly engineered.
“Custom homebuilders are real receptive to our services, and as a result we’re getting their business,” he added. “Our niche allows us to bring structural and construction techniques expertise to the table. We’re not just design people, and that’s why we put this company together. We saw an under-served market to tap.”
Insurance companies also rely on the company’s forensic knowledge and experience. “Information we gain from our forensic investigations makes us better designers of engineered systems. We rely on each type of expertise to strengthen the other,” Bob concluded.
